The University of Rochester has been awarded more than $100,000 in a federal grant designed to cultivate innovation, expand business and develop the workforce in the Finger Lakes.
The funding is the result of UR being announced Monday as a winner in the U.S. Economic Development Administration’s 2016 University Center Economic Development Program Competition.
The UR grant is for $116,667 to support the University of Rochester Ain Center for Entrepreneurship.
The center provides early-stage entrepreneurship support and training programs for student venture teams and community participants to validate non-technical business ideas and projects targeting both urban and rural areas in the nine-county Finger Lakes region.
