As Monday dawns, the news is grim. The projected death toll continues to grow and the federal government has extended its social distancing recommendations through the month of April.  New York State continues to lead the nation in Coronavirus cases and deaths, and hospitals are struggling under a severe shortage of supplies and necessary equipment.

Here at MedTech, we spent the weekend fielding calls from healthcare providers, state and local governments, bio/med companies, and others, seeking our assistance in the fight against COVID-19.  While most of us are aware of the pressing need for PPE and increased production of ventilators, there is also an urgent need for subject matter expertise, manufacturing capacity, and access to capital. The mismatch between needs and resources is immediate and critical.

We’re putting out a call to MedTech members and others who can meet these needs.  We need to hear from you.  Whether you have the skills to guide a manufacturer through FDA requirements, supplies you can source, facilities capacity to spare, or can open doors to investment, America needs you and needs you now.  Please contact our Executive Director, Win Thurlow.  He’s ready to connect you to an organization that needs your help.  Together we can, in the words of Governor Cuomo, “kick Coronavirus ass.”

MedTech exists to deliver value to the bio/med industry and serve those on the front lines of healthcare advances.  We rely on our members to make that possible.  Please take a moment to join or renew your membership today.  Renewing members can lock in last year’s rate through 2021.  New members who join today will receive 3 free months on their membership year.  Don’t wait.  We need your support to continue the work we do.

As always, don’t hesitate to contact us with your specific questions and concerns. Regular updates can be found at our website, which is refreshed daily.
