A new report calls New York State a beacon for bioscience and medical technology growth.
Released in Albany on Monday, the report from MedTech finds upstate New York beats the national average in terms of economic growth in these fields.
One of the keys to the area's success: the highly skilled and educated students coming from upstate universities.
“What we found in our report is that it’s one of the larger employment bases for the bio-sciences industry; over 7,000 employees in the Capital Region and we're also seeing growth,” said MedTech Jessica Crawford.
MedTech is a trade group that represents companies involved in bio-science and medical technology.
