MedTech Looking to Hire New Events Manager

As a key member of the MedTech team, the Events Manager takes a leadership role in shaping and managing programming and service delivery to support the association’s strategic priorities and member-driven initiatives. The Manager oversees the development and implementation of an annual events plan to support the association’s member-driven initiatives and programming. In addition, you will serve as the primary liaison between two of the association’s committees of the board and will be expected to interact regularly with senior executives from a wide range of regional businesses and universities to identify and respond to emerging communications opportunities within the MedTech community.
In this role you will liaise directly with the Issues, Events & Services Committee, and Science & Technology Committee, to identify and develop compelling industry events and ensure consistent, professional delivery of high-quality information and interactions. You will actively support program development and planning efforts, including development of compelling event descriptions, interacting with speakers and sponsors, developing budgets and managing pre and post event logistics and analysis. You will work with MedTech staff to promote MedTech’s calendar of events, as well as members and external partners to develop a complete set of educational programs that meet the needs of members and the New York State Bio/Med community.
Responsibilities include leading on-going planning and event tracking efforts, budget development and adherence and collaboration with staff, partners and member groups to ensure effective coordination and communication of MedTech’s activities.
3-7 years of experience in events management/planning or project management. Client relations experience is strongly preferred. A bachelor’s degree is required and a master’s degree is a plus. The ideal candidate will thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and possesses excellent organizational, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, is customer-centric, collaborative, professional and decisive. You must be a team player, reflecting high integrity as well as a strong work ethic.
