MedTech Honors Nine Outstanding Contributions in New York’s Bio/Med Ecosphere

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (January 13, 2022) – MedTech Association, a coalition of pharmaceutical, medical technology, and life sciences companies, research and academic institutions, suppliers, service providers, and New York’s trade association for the bio/med industry, recently hosted and announced the winners at its annual Honors Ceremony.  This year’s ceremony was held at del Lago Resort & Casino in Waterloo, NY accompanied by a New Year Celebration of collaboration and networking.  MedTech and its community joined together to congratulate the following honorees:

  • Industry Pioneer – Tapecon
    Awarded to a company that has blazed a trail of innovation under extraordinary circumstances.
  • Outstanding Contribution to the Bio/Med Industry – Curia Global
    Awarded to a company whose efforts over the past year will have a lasting impact on patient health.
  • Project of the Year – GRYT Health’s Global Virtual Cancer Conference
    Awarded to an initiative that has had a singular and demonstrable positive impact on public health.
  • Distinguished Achievement in Clinical Research – University at Buffalo
    Awarded to an institution whose contributions to clinical practice in 2020 have measurably advanced medical research.
  • Ecosystem Partner – Biopharma Institute
    Awarded to a collaborating organization that has distinguished itself in 2020 by its support of New York’s bio/med industry.
  • Economic Development Superstar – Kathi Durdon
    Awarded to an individual who has shown an extraordinary ability to create positive change for New York’s bio/med industry.
  • Groundbreaker – Michelle Bonn
    Awarded to an individual who has demonstrated an extraordinary ability to adapt to changed circumstances.
  • Bio/Med Catalyst – Phillips Lytle LLP
    Awarded to an organization whose support for, and commitment to, the life sciences has advanced the interests of New York’s bio/med industry.
  • Newcomer of the Year – TriNet
    Awarded to a MedTech Member organization that hit the ground running in 2020 and has made positive contributions to New York’s bio/med industry. 

“We are extremely proud to present these awards to such deserving honorees,” said Win Thurlow, MedTech’s Executive Director. “It’s a true testament to what can be accomplished in this state when you have this level of commitment, collaboration, and an overall goal of improving the health and wellbeing of individuals.”

MedTech is New York State’s trade association for the bio/med industry— an active association of over 100 pharmaceutical, biotech and medical technology companies, their suppliers and service providers, and research universities.
