MedTech Announces August 16 Member Meet Up At University of Rochester

MedTech, New York’s bio/med association, has announced that its next Member Meet Up will be held at the University of Rochester on Thursday, August 16, 2018.
MedTech Member Meet Ups are quarterly events held at MedTech member locations and open to MedTech members and others to learn about bio/med industry trends and to network with colleagues working in this region’s bio/med community.
The event at the University of Rochester will feature presentations by
- Judith Dunn, PhD, CEO of the Empire Discovery Institute
- Stephen Dewhurst, PhD, Executive Director of the Upstate Stem Cell cGMP Facility
- Greg Gdowski, PhD Executive Director of the Center for Medical Technology & Innovation
- David Mitten, MD, Executive Director of Healthlabs
- Brenda Bartok, Telehealth Consortium
- Paul Ballentine, CEIS, University of Rochester CAT
“The University of Rochester has long been a hotbed of innovation and technological advancement. However, it has really stepped up its game over the last few years with the introduction of new and exciting programs aimed at accelerating the commercialization of research discoveries and assisting the development of entrepreneurial activities in the healthcare space” noted Winthrop Thurlow, MedTech’s Executive Director. “We’re thrilled that the U of R has graciously agreed to host this event and we encourage our members and others to attend this valuable program.”
In addition to the presentations noted above, the program will also include a poster session featuring cutting edge research conducted by University of Rochester students and researchers. A post-event reception will provide attendees with an opportunity to network with academic and industry leaders from across New York State.
The event will be held from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the university’s Saunders Research Building, 265 Crittenden Boulevard, Rochester, NY 14620. Those interested in attending may register here.
