Kirk Elected to MedTech Board of Directors

Syracuse, NY – Bruce Kirk, director of corporate innovation effectiveness at Corning Incorporated was elected to the board of directors at MedTech, a trade association representing the Upstate New York biosciences community at MEDTECH 09, the association’s annual conference.
Kirk’s two-year term as a director on MedTech’s board will run until the fall of 2011.
"I am pleased to be joining this important organization and follow Dr. Joe Miller, Corning’s chief technology officer, as Corning’s representative” said Kirk. “I look forward to working collectively with our New York State colleagues to advance the growth of the bioscience sector in Upstate New York.”
Kirk’s responsibilities at Corning Incorporated include innovation process development and global deployment, employee education and training, best practice benchmarking, next generation process development and the implementation of the Innovation Black Belt role across Corning. He has led the Revitalize Innovation Globally initiative for the corporation since 2005.
Since joining Corning in 1976, has held various leadership positions in sales, sales management, marketing management and business management in Corning Life Sciences and Corning Photonic Technologies. Kirk holds a bachelor’s degree in business finance from Susquehanna University.
