Community Care Award

Do you have the next $10,000 idea to improve health and wellness in Central New York, New York? UnitedHealthcare is partnering with local communities to help people live healthier lives by supporting small businesses with innovative ideas through the UnitedHealthcare Community Care Award program.

Award selection

UnitedHealthcare will award $10,000 in funding to a small business with the next big idea for enhancing community health and wellness in Central New York. United Way of Central New York, Inc., a collaborative local nonprofit organization that drives solutions to the most pressing human service community needs of Central New York; and CenterState CEO, an economic development strategist, business leadership organization and chamber of commerce, will partner with UnitedHealthcare to identify the winning project and support its implementation in the community.

Businesses in Central New York with two to 100 employees are eligible to submit project ideas for enhancing their communities’ health and wellness through an online application now through June 12, 2019. All projects must involve a partnership with a local nonprofit organization.

Judges, including local health care experts and business leaders, will evaluate the project submissions and select the top five based on criteria such as community impact, creativity and feasibility.

The top five applicants and representatives from their benefiting nonprofits will be invited to a live pitch and networking event, where the “UnitedHealthcare Community Care Award” winner will be selected. This is NOT a game of chance. Winners will be selected based on the merit of their ideas by an impartial panel of judges.

Eligibility

No purchase is necessary. Entrants do not have to be customers of UnitedHealthcare to enter. A purchase will not improve the chances of winning. All legal residents of New York who are 18 years+ at entry and own a small business with between 2–100 employees based in Central New York may enter. Employees, immediate family and household members of employees of sponsor and its affiliates and Award Program Partners are NOT eligible to enter or win. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited and outside of the United States.

Entry Period

Entries may be submitted beginning at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) on April 10, and ending at 11:59 p.m. EDT on June 12, 2019 (“Entry Period”).
