Duties/Responsibilities

General Job Description

The lead electrical engineer will be required to develop electrical system architecture, circuit designs, schematic capture and board layout, bring up circuit boards, plan and verify systems through analysis, fabrication, and testing, and communicate results internally and externally.  The ideal candidate will be familiar with various hardware electronics, microcontrollers, sensor interface, power systems for medical devices, and battery systems as well as computing environments for circuit design and layout capture.  The candidate must be willing to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment and exhibit strong technical skills and self-motivation.  This position is located in the product development group which is responsible for turn-key development of medical devices, diagnostics systems, and laboratory instruments.

Requirements:

Qualifications

Education

  • BSEE (preferred) or BSCE with 5+ years’ experience in Electrical Engineering

Technical Skills and Experience

  • Perform electrical design tasks for medical devices
  • Perform schematic capture and board layout
  • Communicate design approaches to clients
  • Develop design documentation and drawing packages and BOMs
  • Develop and implement improvements to the electrical development process
  • Work closely with product architects to ensure we are building the best products
  • Manage PCB assembly vendors
  • Manage EMC testing
  • Knowledge of IPC and IEC 60601-1 standards
  • Familiarity with firmware and FPGAs is a plus

  • Ability to multi-task across teams of engineers and managers on various projects

Travel

As required by project assignments.  Estimated to be 10%-20%.
