The Opportunity:

Ortho Clinical Diagnostics is seeking an Assay Research and Development Intern for our 2021 Summer Intern Program. The Assay Research and Development Intern will assist in the verification and validation of VITROS Immunoassays.

The Responsibilities:

• Interact with cross-functional teams to make product improvements and assist in verification and validation activities for existing VITROS products.

• Analyze data using Excel and Minitab.

• Assist in preparation and testing of human blood samples.

• Perform routine maintenance and testing on VITROS Systems.

• Document experimental work in electronic notebook following SOPs.

• Present to cross-functional teams.

Job Deliverables:

• Perform laboratory testing and produce trustworthy data.  Conduct data analysis and document experimental outcomes.

• The intern will present his/her work to a cross-functional group.

The Requirements:

• Undergraduate in the field of Study: Medical Technology

• Minimum years in School: Completed 3rd year

• Minimum GPA: 3.0

• Broad knowledge of technical fields including: Biology, Immunology, Clinical Chemistry.

• Knowledge of immunoassay/ELISA a plus.

• Experience performing phlebotomy is desirable.

• Candidate should have excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Candidate must be able to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment and be able to handle multiple priorities at once.

• Candidate should be able to work both independently and in collaborative, team setting.
