Lab Equipment Validation Technician

We have an exciting opportunity for a Lab Equipment Validation Technician to perform testing to maintain validation and regulatory requirements supporting iuvo’s testing departments including microbiology, chemistry and toxicology. 


Perform standard and moderately difficult testing including:

  • Equipment qualifications – Execute protocols and assist in preparation of protocols and reports, including IQ/OQ/PQ testing to support new and existing equipment, to meet all regulatory requirements. 
  • Temperature mapping and routine calibration – Perform routing mapping and calibration, collect data, maintain calibration records.

These tasks include the following types of activities:

  • Work closely with testing department personnel (technicians, scientists and management) on requirements and scheduling.
  • Work closely with quality assurance on testing requirements, procedures, reporting, etc.
  • Perform testing, collect and tabulate data, prepare reports
  • Follow work instructions and protocols
  • Report writing and work instruction writing and review, mathematical calculation and record keeping
  • Employee training
  • All other tasks as assigned by management
  • Supervisory duties: None
  • Additional Responsibilities as assigned by management.


  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 


  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree or Associate's Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with two years of experience. 


  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and programs specific to the lab tools and instrumentation. Must be able to learn and execute new types of software, including data acquisition, and work with IT department on data integrity procedures. Knowledge of laboratory equipment and computer-equipment interfaces is a strong plus.


  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to employees of the organization.


  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, statistics, and geometry.


  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit and walk, use hands to manipulate objects or controls, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. 
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and\or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, color, and peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
