Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
As part of the country's first technological research university, the Lally School of Management uses a technology-driven business education to shape leaders who have the perspectives and experiences needed to meet the multifaceted challenges of the 21st century. Through Lally's distinguished undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs, students work side-by-side with engineers and scientists to provide a business perspective that transforms technological advances into new products and services that address complex global issues.
The new MBA life sciences entrepreneurship (LSE) program is designed to facilitate commercialization in New York state by developing entrepreneurs with the mix of skills and expertise needed to successfully grow innovative life science startups into commercially viable enterprises. From the demands of regulatory approval to the time-intensive process of bringing a product or service to market, the program presents unique challenges as well as tremendous opportunities for our MBA students. The MBA LSE concentration is offered in partnership with the Schools of Engineering and Science at Rensselaer and with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

Students are not required to fulfill an internship for course credit as part of the LSE program. However, students who enter the program are expected to aggressively pursue opportunities, especially for the summer months when there's a break in the curriculum. For MBA students, a paid opportunity is desired with the appropriate credentials. For undergraduates, we also welcome opportunities - both paid and unpaid, based on experience. Students in the program often are seeking undergraduate degrees that are science and engineering-specific and are pursuing an MBA to balance their acquired knowledge and skills with an advanced business degree and experience.
Companies/organizations looking to partner with RPI and hosting students as interns, or students interested in internships, please contact:
