The University of Rochester has been awarded $411,738 to support its photonics research efforts, U.S. Congresswoman Louise Slaughter, D-Perinton, announced Wednesday.
The money will help scientists at UR investigate quantum photonics in order to develop new materials to support the next generation of photonic devices. The properties of the quantum materials being studied will allow researchers to look into new sources of quantum light—the underpinnings of the science of photonics, a release from Slaughter’s office said.
