A second $1 million gift solidifies the James H. Cummings Foundation's commitment to the downtown Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus.
The foundation has announced the gift to the University at Buffalo School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences toward development of a Structural Science Learmning Center at the new site under construction downtown.
The grant represents just the third time in its history the foundation has granted $1 million and the second time in the past 12 months: Last year, the foundation awarded a $1 million grant to the John R. Oishei Children's Hospital, also under construction on the medical campus, to establish the James H. Cummings Foundation Epilepsy Monitoring Center, which will replace the existing eight-bed unit now housed at Women & Children's Hospital of Buffalo.
