Slaughter Announces $766k in Funding for U of R

Congresswoman Louise M. Slaughter announced two federal grants totaling $766,220 for the University of Rochester on Wednesday. 

The first grant, awarded by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, will provide $449,928 to fund immunology research. The second grant, awarded by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, will provide $316,292 for research investigating how children learn to perform both basic and complex mathematics.        

“This grant funding is good news for the University of Rochester and will support the world-class research happening right here in our community,” said Rep. Slaughter.
