MedTech Introduces Three New Staf Members

MedTech Association has added three new members, Nichole Wenderlich Owens, Amy Supparitis Spranger and Carolynn Frearson to its staff. Nichole, Amy and Carolynn bring years of experience and an array of talents that will empower MedTech’s mission of supporting the bioscience and medical technology industry in New York State.
Nichole Wenderlich Owens, MedTech’s manager of marketing and events, oversees the organization’s multiple events throughout the year, including its Annual MEDTECH Conference, as well as its marketing communications strategy and execution. Nichole has more than 11 years of experience in integrated marketing communications and event planning. Prior to joining MedTech, Nichole was the digital media specialist for St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center in Syracuse, N.Y., where she managed the hospital’s social media strategy and its blogs and websites. She previously served as a senior communications specialist for Saab Sensis Corporation, where she was responsible for a variety of activities, including internal and external communications, branding, web and multimedia projects, product launches, and event planning. She specifically organized the Famous Entrepreneurs Series, a speaker series, created to fuel the entrepreneurial flame in the greater Syracuse area.
Nichole is a founding member of 40 Below, and the organization’s first chair of marketing communications, where she led a volunteer team to create the pro-Syracuse branding campaign, “Live it. Love it. It’s All Here.” She is a 40 Under 40 recipient (2007), a Leadership Greater Syracuse graduate (2008) and has served on numerous committees throughout the community for events including WISE’s Annual Meeting, Rockin’ The Red Cross and Mr. Habitat. Nichole earned a bachelor’s in English Writing Arts from SUNY Oswego and lives in North Syracuse with her husband, Jason, and daughter, Larien.
Amy Spranger, MedTech’s manager of member development and retention – a new role at MedTech – is responsible for engaging current and prospective members and ensuring that members are receiving full value from and access to MedTech’s resources. She previously served as the associate director of corporate development for the American Diabetes Association, sales manager for Alpha Medical Equipment, and the national sales manager for InfiMed, a role she held for eight years. Amy has over 15 years of sales and marketing experience in the medical equipment vertical.
Amy currently serves on the planning committee for the American Diabetes Association’s Tour de Cure. Amy earned a bachelor’s in Communications from Syracuse University and lives in North Syracuse with her husband, Michael, and daughter, Lauren.
Caroylnn Frearson, MedTech’s office manager, handles all of the day-to-day office needs, finances and serves as the President’s executive assistant. A former employee of MedTech under Heather Erickson, Carolynn brings with her years of institutional knowledge and extensive membership, program and event management experience. Currently, Carolynn also serves as executive coordinator for Wisdom Thinkers Network, where she provides a wide array of project management and administrative support services.
Carolynn volunteers for the Jordan-Elbridge Runners Club, which supports the school’s cross country, indoor and outdoor track teams, organizing numerous fundraisers and managing its marketing communications. She also volunteer with the school’s Sports Boosters Program. Carolynn earned a bachelor’s in Business Management from LeMoyne College and lives Elbridge with her husband Stafford, and three children, Austin, Shelby and Kahlan.
