MedTech Association Announces Partnership with Engineering World Health

Saturday, February 8, 2014

In celebration of its 10th anniversary, MedTech is partnering with Engineering World Health (EWH) to provide a scholarship from MedTech members for a student to participate in the EWH Summer Institute 2015. Students that participate in the Summer Institute develop high levels of resourcefulness and glean new insights on medical products by repairing equipment in the field at a hospital or clinic in a low-income country.

Student EWH Summer Institute Scholarship applicants submit this application to request consideration by a committee of MedTech members that have contributed to the scholarship fund or support EWH programs. Priority will be given to students from a MedTech member educational institution.  We expect that students who apply for the grant will be working on a EWH “Project That Matters” or another design concept appropriate to low income countries along with support from a MedTech member company mentor – and they should enter the EWH Design Competition with their chapter.

Completed applications are to be submitted by e-mail to info@medtech.org with a subject line of “Application Submission for MedTech/EWH 2015 Summer Institute Scholarship”. The application deadline is February 6, 2015.

The MedTech EWH Scholarship committee will review all applications and finalists will have interviews with committee members (in person, by phone or Skype). Final decision and award will be made before the end of February, 2015.
