MedTech Appoints Scott Steele from University of Rochester to Board of Directors

ROCHESTER, NY— MedTech, the hub of Upstate New York’s bioscience and medical technology industry, is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Steeleto its Board of Directors. 

Steele currently serves as the Director of Research Alliances at the University of Rochester. In this role, he fosters strategic research partnerships between the University and industry, government agencies and other academic institutions. He joined the University of Rochester in December of 2008, and is actively involved with the University of Rochester Clinical and Translational Science Institute, serving as the Director of the Public-Private Partnerships Key Function. Additionally, he holds an adjunct appointment in the Department of Community and Preventive Medicine in the School of Medicine and Dentistry.

 
As a director on MedTech’s board, Steele plans to draw from his experience in developing and implementing science policy, and fostering research alliances between academia, industry and government.
 
“MedTech plays a unique role in leveraging biomedical research and technology capabilities across Upstate New York to foster collaborations, provide educational and training opportunities and promote policies that further drive research and development in this area,” said Steele. “I look forward to the opportunity to join the distinguished group of leaders on the MedTech Board and to supporting their vital initiatives.”
