Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul, in Buffalo for the state's annual MedTech conference, spoke to top executives of the bioscience and medical technology industries Thursday during a lunch break at 716 Food and Sport.

The two-day event focused on how business leaders interact with the health care industry. Officials say Buffalo was selected to host the event because of the new investments downtown, which have attracted attention of bio-med firms from around the globe.

"This is their first time coming to the city and I will tell you the reaction from them was profoundly stunned," said Hochul, D-New York. "Many of them said they had heard some negative things about Buffalo and didn't know what to expect, and they are all leaving here with a sense of awe about how Buffalo has been transformed."
