Syracuse, NY – Daniel S. Jonas, vice president of legal affairs and general counsel of ConMed Corporation (NASD: CNMD), was appointed the new chairman of the board of directors of MedTech, a trade association representing the Upstate New York biosciences community at MEDTECH 09, the association’s annual conference.
Jonas’ two-year term will run until the fall of 2011.
"Following my appointment as chairman of the board, I look forward to continuing MedTech’s work with the other directors to identify synergies and enhance collaboration between bioscience companies,” said Jonas. “As MedTech expands in membership and program offerings, I see the association playing an increasing role as a voice for our industry.”

He has overseen ConMed’s regulatory affairs and quality assurance departments and administers its ethics policy.
