The eighth annual Imagine RIT festival will bring a fresh wave of creativity to Rochester.

The family-friendly festival on May 2 will showcase more than 400 interactive exhibits and live demonstrations ranging from a stand-up wheel chair to custom-designed stockings. Nearly 30,000 spectators are expected to attend the free event on RIT's campus from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a day of food, entertainment and innovative ideas.

This year, RIT President Bill Destler's challenge will feature flying cars. Teams will pilot quadcopters to perform various tasks in the annual competition and could win $1,000 or a banjo from Destler's collection.

RIT will offer a free shuttle service from Monroe Community College on the day of the festival.
