Bright Buffalo Niagara has become a major event in the local startup community, pulling everyone from seed-stage tech companies to ecosystem leaders and out-of-town investors.

Organizers are once again looking for entrepreneurs to pitch their company at the event, which will take place this year on June 28. Twenty-five companies will be selected to participate for a shot at a $20,000 grand prize, an automatic pass to the semifinalist of 43North and the opportunity to pitch and an opportunity to pitch at an upcoming Upstate New York venture Association of New York event.

The application deadline is May 1. Those interested can apply here.

Bright Buffalo Niagara is led by the University at Buffalo's Center for Advanced Biomedical and Bioengineering Technology and UB's Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences. The event is sponsored this year by Viaduct, Invest Buffalo Niagara, the Western New York Incubator Network, Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus, NYSTAR, UVANY, Leadership Buffalo, Upstate Venture Connect, Hotel Henry, Print2Web and Z80 Labs.
