The Physician Payment Sunshine Act requires medical technology manufacturers operating in the U.S. to comply with specific transparency requirements. The Sunshine Act does not restrict industry-physician collaboration or interactions, or prohibit payments or transfers of value. Rather, it requires tracking and reporting of payments and transfers of value that result from these interactions. The objective of this law is to provide patients with enhanced transparency into the relationships their health care providers have with life science manufacturers, including medical technology companies. The Sunshine Law requires companies to track payments and transfers of value. The government must post that data on a public searchable government-maintained website.
Discuss the implementation issues and challenges of interacting with customers during the statutory review period. Achieve a better understanding of identifying and tracking payments to covered recipients. Obtain step-by-step guidance on classifying payment types such as education expenses, consultant fees, and meals & travel. Learn more about disclosure reporting. Network with industry experts and leaders who will be available to discuss your tracking systems, reporting methods, and review processes, and will provide guidance on potential solutions to your compliance challenges.

The Foreign Corruption Practices Act’s (FCPA) purpose is to criminalize certain payments to foreign government officials to assist in obtaining business. The penalties for violating the Act range from being banned from tendering for US government contracts to large fines, and in some cases criminal convictions for prosecuted company executives. Learn the latest trends in FCPA enforcement and lessons learned on third party compliance management.
Anti-corruption laws are not merely restricted to the United States. Substantial penalties for the bribing of overseas officials exist in several other countries including the United Kingdom. Acquire insight on best practices for managing overseas sales through third party distributors. Participate in a panel discussion with industry experts about FCPA risks in Brazil, China, and India, and learn how to navigate other global anti-corruption risks.
The law requires companies to understand the details of the management structure, group ownership and financial dealings of the companies they do business with in order to confirm that they have no transactions with lawbreakers. Preparation is critical in ensuring that your company stays in compliance with the FCPA. Network with industry experts, receive guidance, and obtain up to the minute information on the FCPA.
