The Opportunity: As the company transitions, we are seeking a Technical Communications Specialist II to produce technical written communications used for projects assigned to department. Projects may include marketing tools, technical manuals, and presentations. This individual may participate in special projects.
The Responsibilities: * Research, create, update, edit and publish instructions for use, customer and service manuals and labeling for Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics (OCD) products. * Acquire andor verify knowledge of subject by consulting with subject matter experts, observing the performance of the product, or referring to articles, bulletins, manuals, or similar publications. * Maintain appropriate supporting documentation according to government requirements and OCD records management guidelines. * Gathers and organizes technical information from various sources. Verifies facts and clarifies information as needed. * Develops, writes, edits and proofs materials somewhat complex in nature for various internal customers. * Ensures Company publications meet established standards of style and format. Selects photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material. * Reviews published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format and content. Checks and edits work of less experienced writers. * Investigates and resolves or escalates customer complaints and concerns. Responds to nonstandard inquiries. * Perform other work related duties as assigned.
A minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Technical Writing, Communications, or Medical Technology with technical writing experience or equivalent is required. A Bachelors degree preferred. * A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience is required. * The individuals must be able to represent the Technical group on cross-functional teams and be comfortable interacting with IT professionals and upper levels of management. * Must be proven team player, self-motivated, able to prioritize workload with minimal supervision, manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines. * Excellent written and verbal communications skills and strong computer skills are required. * Experience in HTML, XML, DITA and the creation of online documentation using topic-based authoring, website designauthoring tools would be required.
