GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY

Conceptualize, develop, implement and maintain software designs using sound engineering principles in support of company business development efforts, marketing plans and department plans. Analyze user needs, as well as business and technology requirements, and implement appropriate, approved software solutions in a timely and cost effective manner. Perform functional testing and periodic analysis to ensure system quality and reliability. Design, deploy and maintain databases in support of the software initiatives.

PRIMARY DUTIES

Develop and maintain software applications for Gorbel Medical products
Participate in the development of concepts and specifications for new products and enhancements
Drive innovation in product software
Adhere to suitable software design and documentation practices and methodologies
Develop and maintain standard procedures for software maintenance and support
Provide quality assurance to ensure customer satisfaction and conformance to product specification
Adhere to project timelines and budgets
Participate in Product Development and Business Development projects as assigned
Ensure FDA and ISO compliance

SECONDARY DUTIES

Create, publish and maintain departmental procedures as assigned
Serve as a technical resource to other departments as required
Support Dealers and Customer Service in the application, quoting and ordering process
Support Sourcing and Production in the order fulfillment process
Support Service Department in after sales support and provide field support as required
Support Product Development functional, abusive, ultimate and accelerated life testing
Remain current on new related software and related hardware technologies

SPECIFIC DUTIES

Develop, implement and test product software applications, user interfaces, and databases for Gorbel Medical products
Provide integration between product software applications, databases and embedded software
Develop and maintain organized documentation, change control, user instructions and test plans
Work closely with the Controls Software Engineer and the Controls Electrical Engineer to provide integrated, reliable, effective product solutions

Requirements:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

4 year degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related degree
Customer service focus
Ability to meet tight deadlines with high quality requirements
Project and task management skills
Strong communication skills
Problem solving skills
Detail oriented
Experience with;
Microsoft .NET programming with C#
Team Foundation Server (TFS)
Internet Information Services (IIS)
SQL Server
TCP communications
Model-View-Controller (MVC) component structure
Entity Framework 6
WebAPI Framework
DESIRED EXPERIENCE

2-5 years of professional experience
Medical product development
FDA or ISO requirements
Graphic User Interface (GUI) development
Developing apps for mobile devices (Windows 8 or Android)
Embedded control software familiarity
Required experience:
